Advancement ceremony meeting Wednesday 20th November 2024 at the Masonic Hall, Cleveleys. | |
The WM, WBro. Russ Forsyth opened the Lodge with 26 Brethren present: members and visitors. One of the visitors was Bro. Jack Baxter of Stirling Royal Arch Chapter Lodge No. 76 in the Scottish Constitution. Other visitors included WBro. Andrew and WBro. Roger Stansfield (Imperial), WBro. Alan Gould (Prince Setanta) and WBro. Tom Egan (Wyre). | |
The WM worked through the business up to and including the ballot for the candidate; Bro. Philip Drake, a member of Broadwater Lodge, proposed by WBro. Paul Smedley and seconded by VWBro. Jimmy Rogers. The ballot proved in favour. | |
The WM then asked WBro. Bob Stafford to carry out the first part of the ceremony and WBro. Alain Fairhurst to undertake the second part. | |
VWBro. Jimmy Rogers acted as SD for the ceremony, ably accompanied by WBro. Tom Egan acting as JD. The old boys have still got it! | |
An excellent ceremony was carried out which the candidate appeared to enjoy and participated in enthusiastically. | |
WBro. Tom Egan explained the working tools in great style. | |
WBro. Tony Cross presented the newly advanced Brother with a letter of welcome into the Mark Degree from the RWPGM. | |
The WM thanked all those who took part in the ceremony. | |
Two more candidates were proposed for advancement at the next two meetings: WBro. Martin Poole and WBro. Andrew Greenlees, both of whom are members of Royal Oak Lodge. | |
The Lodge was closed and the Brethren retired to the festive board for some sustenance; an excellent two-course buffet, and lively conversation. | |
A seaside swindle raffle organized by WBro. Bob Bennet raised £146! | |
A good night was definitely had by all! | |
